Charles Darwin neglected to explain the overgrown human brain encephalization because he had no access to modern laboratory equipment like Lipidomics based LC-MS. Darwin himself was a supporter of the Savanna Dry Land (SDL) hypothesis - with the Aquatic Phase Hypothesis (APH) as its counterpart - postulating that the African savannah could supply those nutritional elements and other chemical compounds essential to the explanation of the uniqueness of the human brain with its overgrown neocortex.
